The problem

Outlook invites, Teams channel links, and calendar events don't always line up neatly — and the moment a meeting starts is exactly the wrong time to be searching for which one is the real link.

What Auto Join Meetings does for Teams

Once your Outlook (or Google Calendar with synced Teams links) is connected, we detect teams.microsoft.com and teams.live.com links in your events and open that tab automatically a couple of minutes before start time — exactly the same reliable tab-opening behavior we provide for Google Meet and Zoom.

From version 1.7.3, on paid plans: turn on Microsoft Teams auto-join (beta) in the extension popup and allow access to Teams when Chrome asks. From then on, when the extension opens a Teams meeting it clicks Continue on this browser, then Join now, and confirms you are in (or waiting in the lobby for the organizer). In our own test it took 13 seconds from the calendar to inside the meeting.

Being straight about the limits: it only acts on meeting tabs the extension opened itself, never on Teams tabs you open. It never types anything: if the meeting requires you to sign in to a Microsoft account, sign in to Teams in the same browser first; if Teams asks a guest for a name, you type it. Meetings from another organization that don't allow your account to join stop at Teams' own sign-in or home screen. The Teams desktop app is not controlled — this works in the browser. It's a beta: tell us at support if a meeting doesn't go through.

How it works

Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook.

2. We detect the Teams link

Same detection logic used across every meeting provider we support.

3. Tab opens on time

Configurable lead time (1, 2 or 5 min) on paid plans.

4. We click Join (beta)

With Teams auto-join on (paid, 1.7.3+). Otherwise the tab is open and waiting for your click.

Does Auto Join Meetings click Join for Microsoft Teams?

Yes, from extension version 1.7.3, on paid plans, as a beta you turn on in the popup. It clicks Continue on this browser and Join now, then confirms you are in the meeting or in the lobby. If the meeting requires a Microsoft account, be signed in to Teams in that browser first.

What if I am on the Free plan or have not turned the beta on?

The Teams tab still opens automatically on time (up to 3 automatic joins a day on Free), and you click Join yourself.
