Most calendar apps already have some form of meeting reminder — a popup, a notification, an email a few minutes ahead of time. What a typical reminder actually does
A calendar reminder app tells you a meeting is about to start. That's genuinely useful — but everything after the notification is still on you: switch to the calendar, open the event, find the link, open a new tab, click join. The reminder did its job; the rest of the task is unchanged.

Where reminders still have a place
Reminders aren't wrong, they're just incomplete for meetings specifically.
