What "confirm you entered the call" means

Auto-clicking "Join now" isn't the whole job — Google Meet sometimes shows a waiting room, a permissions prompt, or a brief loading state before you're actually in. On Basic, Auto Join Meetings checks that you've actually landed in the call, not just that a button was clicked, which is what makes this closer to genuinely hands-free than a simple auto-click script.

Why this is Google Meet-specific, for now

Google Meet's interface is the most consistent of the three platforms we support, which is why full click automation shipped there first and is the most reliable today. Zoom auto-click is an early prototype, and Microsoft Teams still needs a manual click — both open their tabs automatically already, and both are on the roadmap for the same level of automation Google Meet has today.

What Free-plan users actually get on Google Meet

Even without Basic, Google Meet still benefits from the core automation: your Google Meet link is detected from your connected calendar and the tab opens automatically ahead of time, up to 3 times a day. You still click "Join now" yourself — but you're never digging through your calendar or inbox to find the link in the first place.
